5 Tips for Using Tarot to Help Guide Your Intuition
October 31, 2024
Tarot has helped me follow my intuition for years. Sometimes it’s a decision that affects my day, like where I should and shouldn’t go, but other times, tarot has helped me when I’m dealing with more important life issues, like when my daughter would be born.
Decisions, traumas and manifestations are all assisted by my tarot cards, and I don’t know where I’d be without them.
They serve as a way for me to hear and see what the Universe is trying to tell me. A medium unlike anything else I’ve ever known. And I know I’d be lost without them.
They remind me to trust myself. To decipher the message they give me and to follow my intuition. They are my lifeline. My light in the darkness. And my connection to that which is unknown.
If you’ve never used tarot, try it out. Tis the season after all.
Here are some tips for beginning a tarot practice:
- Choose a deck that speaks to you. My favorite thing to do when buying a new deck is to go to a store that sells tarot, usually a crystal shop or head shop, and look at the decks until I feel drawn to one.
- Familiarize yourself with the cards. Once you buy a deck, look through the cards and read the guide book that accompanies them. Give them your energy.
- Practice reading at the same time every day. Before I became a mother, I read my cards first thing every morning. Now I read them with my daughter when we’re taking a break from playing.
- Keep a journal of what comes up for you each day. Reflect on and recognize if what the card said came true throughout your day. Try to understand the messages the cards are giving you.
- Follow your intuition. If a card signals something for you to pay attention to, meditate on it to see if you should. Don’t let the cards make you feel anxious or overwhelmed; instead, use them as a guide to understanding your inner truths.
However you practice tarot, I wish you all the joys of using your cards to help you hear the inner you and to catch a glimpse of what the Universe is trying to show you. Happy reading.
